Bristow Helicopter Crash in Lagos Lagoon

Following the Fatal helicopter cash yesterday afternoon that left 4 people dead and many injured, the Traditional ruler of Oworonsoki, Oba Basiru Oloruntoyin Saliu has reportedly blamed the government for the crash.

He had allegedly stated that the Bristow Helicopter crash that occurred on Wednesday happened because the government no longer appeases the sea goddess.

According to Daily Post, “He attributed the cause of the incident to the refusal of the government to pay attention to tradition, noting that the crash might have been caused by the lagoon goddess.”

“The government no longer pays attention to traditional rites which is necessary to prevent such occurrences. For instance, how many times have we appeased the goddess this year?

An occurrence like this may be caused by the goddess because no human being can depict the depth of the lagoon; but if the goddess is appeased, she would have prevented such occurrence,” Oba Saliu said.

The Oba also stated that as soon as the incident occurred, he deployed all his chiefs and princes to the scene to assist in the rescue operation.
