On Sunday night, Kim Kardashian set live the kind of Snapstory that people will be talking about for years to come.
Its premise was simple: it was the video of Kanye West, appearing to talk to Taylor Swift — or someone who sounds a heck of a lot like Taylor — on the phone. If this is real, it’s a video that Kim and Kanye have repeatedly said existed. In it, the rapper appears to be telling Taylor about the line in “Famous”, even though her team has said she was never briefed on before it dropped in Madison Square Garden back in February.
And if this video is true, you can hear Taylor (or the person on the other end of the phone call, at least) not only knowing about the line, but calling it a compliment.
The Snap story is coming after the episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians where Kim vents, ostensibly about Taylor and the media’s treatment of Kanye after that lyric came out. “She totally knew that that was coming out….my husband gets so much sh*t for things [when] he really was doing proper protocol and even called to get it approved,” Kim said on the show.
And while a lot of rumors have swirled around this alleged footage — including whether it would ever see the light of day, if it existed — it sure seems that some conversation happened somewhere, to some capacity. And producer Rick Rubin bore witness.
Taylor, who is in Australia with Tom Hiddleston, right now, hasn’t tweeted since June 17, or Instagrammed since her Fourth of July party. Only time will tell if she breaks her social media silence in response. #TaylorSwift #KimKardashian #KanyeWest
